【揀報】 Google 母公司 Alphabet 宣布 AI 部門人事重組，DeepMind 行政總裁 Demis Hassabis 卸任 Google DeepMind 執行長，改任 Alphabet 首席科學家兼 DeepMind 主席，專注人工通用智能發展。Alphabet 行政總裁 Sundar Pichai 在公司備忘錄表示：「哈薩比斯與我早前已討論新角色，讓他全心塑造 AGI 未來 (shaping the future of AGI)。」哈薩比斯在員工信中稱：「我一直認為 AI 首要應用是改善人類健康 (improve human health)。是時候證明 AI 對世界的價值，以治癒癌症等疾病為例 (cure diseases like cancer)。」 與此同時，Google AI 元老 Jeff Dean 及 Sanjay Ghemawat、Oriol Vinyals、Quoc Le 等核心工程師集體離職，創辦初創公司 Discovery Loop，專注機器學習、科學與工程突破。該公司以公益公司形式運作，並獲 Google 投資及雲端資源支持。Dean 在 X 發文指新公司將聚焦 AI 驅動的科學與工程創新 (AI for science and engineering)。 消息公布後 Alphabet 股價下跌 4%。Google DeepMind 首席技術官 Koray Kavukcuoglu 將接手日常管理，晉升為資深副總裁，同時續任 Alphabet 首席 AI 架構師。
